NUGGETS of WISDOM…

  • The first mission box was a cradle.
  • Either you are a missionary or a mission field.
  • Stewardship is chiefly a way to deepen living, not heighten giving.
  • The true test of a man is not how much money he makes but what he makes of his money.
  • Christian service is love in work clothes (Try them on for size.)

What is St. Paul’s Endowment Fund?

This fund will allow people to designate mission and ministry projects they want to support in their lifetimes, as well as when they go home to heaven. The endowment fund provides a means for us, as Christian stewards, to demonstrate and express in a tangible way our deep gratitude for God’s many gifts and blessings to us. A gift to the endowment fund is a reflection of our faith and Christian love over and above our normal regular support of the ongoing mission and ministry of our church.

Everything we have is a gift on loan from God to be used for the benefit of his creation and to build relationships with the other stewards or wardens of God’s creation.

The things we receive in this life are not ours to keep. They are ours to use, then to pass on to those who follow after us.

Helping Hands

Do you want to make a real difference in someone’s life? Or, could you use a little help with some chore that would get done faster if you had an extra pair of hands to help? We would like to talk to you. Please contact any board of Evangelism member if you’ld like to participate in our Helping Hands Program.

This is a service provided to members of St. Paul Lutheran Church

A Life Quote (from Lutherans for Life)

“Salt does little good if left in the shaker. Jesus charges His followers to be the “salt of the earth” (Matthew 5:13) not “salt of the pews.” It is good to gather with our fellow “grains of salt.” That’s where we renew our “saltiness.” But we cannot influence the world from our pews. This world desperately needs our influence to preserve truth, morality, and human worth. This world desperately needs our influence to point them to the source of truth, morality, and human worth – Jesus Christ, Son of God.

Stewardship

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others    1 Peter 4:10

Peter reminds us to serve, and in doing so to use our gifts.Which tasks are fun for you and which ones drain you? Sometimes you’ll want to pitch in where your help is needed, even if it doesn’t match your gifts. But the vast majority of your volunteering should be in your gift areas. You will be more effective in these areas, too.

Choosing Eternal Over Worldly Treasures-

God has entrusted some of us with few and others with many material blessings. As stewards, we’ve been given an important possition with much responsibility. “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy(I Corinthians 4: 2). Our lives and resources are to be managed responsibly to to fulfill the purpose God gives us.

As God’s people, we should see money as a tool rather than an end in itself. Unfortunately, many people devote all their time and energy to acquire more of it. Jesus said we can’t serve both God and money (Matthew 6: 24). If we chose to serve worldly treasures, we will end up broken, frustrated, and unhappy with no future. In Christ, we will find peace, joy and eternal life. As we serve the Lord, we can be encouraged by these words in Proverbs, “Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will flourish like a green leaf.”
